Happy Club Day and Have a Great Break!

This Friday afternoon for an hour, grade 1-7 students got to join in a variety of fun activities!
​
Each classroom hosted their own club activity and students were able to choose which clubs they joined. Students were allowed to move around to different activities if they wanted. 

Such a great afternoon before the break!

Working Together for Outside Fun!

This week, Grade 7 students had the wonderful opportunity to assist the kindergarten class with kick-sledding. 

Kindergarteners had the chance to try kick-sledding for the first time, and with a little guidance from our grade 7s they had so much fun!

It was an amazing opportunity for the Grade 7s to showcase their leadership skills!

​Did you know it takes 40 gallons of maple water to make one gallon of maple syrup? It takes even more to make maple taffy!

Maple syrup is boiled down to make maple taffy and then spread across fresh snow. All students then got to enjoy this frozen treat!

Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday, and this marks the beginning of Lent. Today classes changed their prayer tablecloths to purple and participated in our Ash Wednesday celebration where students received ashes.
 
Lent is a 40-day period of praying, fasting and almsgiving as we wait for Easter and Jesus’ resurrection.

Creating the Night Sky

 Grade 1B students explored the magic of the Northern Lights, and their creativity shone through in every piece of art they made! Using chalk pastels and paint, they created beautiful, colorful landscapes inspired by our beautiful northern lights.

A Day at Sima

On Friday, grade 7 classes spent the day at Mount Sima!
 
Going skiing and snowboarding at Mount Sima, is a special tradition for grade 7 students at CKES. Thank you to all the students who purchased Candygrams in February as the proceeds from that helped our grade 7’s have this special day!
