6B are preparing for hand games tournament near the end of the month! To help prepare, Ms. Nethery invited a special guest from YFNED to come in and teach them some hand games and drumming.
Grade 2B students got creative in their ADST (Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies) class by building their very own wind racers! The project was all about learning how wind power can be used to move objects, and the students had an amazing time putting their designs to the test. Using LEGO, the students worked in small teams to design and construct their wind racers. They had to think carefully about how to make their racers catch the wind and race across the floor.
Once the racers were built, the real fun began! They used a fan to create wind and test how fast and far their racers could go. This hands-on project not only helped Grade 2 students develop their problem-solving skills but also sparked their creativity and teamwork. It was a fantastic way to explore science and engineering in a fun, interactive way! This Friday afternoon for an hour, grade 1-7 students got to join in a variety of fun activities! Each classroom hosted their own club activity and students were able to choose which clubs they joined. Students were allowed to move around to different activities if they wanted. Such a great afternoon before the break! Take a look below for some of the activities that were offered! There were many other great activities including skating, soccer, bracelet making, drawing, poetry writing, Minecraft, chess and more! Have a wonderful break!
Did you know that Ms. Mary and her class go out for forest school every Tuesday (as weather allows)? Som fun things they have done recently, include finding squirrel caches, making a fire pit, and freezing bubbles! Can you spot the bubble?
Thanks to Ms. Nethery who has been taking her gym classes cross country skiing! What an amazing experience!
Grade 1B students explored the magic of the Northern Lights, and their creativity shone through in every piece of art they made! Using chalk pastels and paint, they created beautiful, colorful landscapes inspired by our beautiful northern lights.
