Happy Pink Shirt Day! Today students and teachers at CKES stood up against bullying by wearing pink!
What is Pink Shirt Day? In Nova Scotia in 2007, a teen boy was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. Two of his classmates decided to stand up to the bullying by buying pink shirts for other students to wear and messaging their friends to wear pink. Students showed up the next day wearing pink to stand in solidarity with the student who had been bullied. Pink Shirt Day is a day to stand against bullying and promote kindness and inclusion. It's a reminder that when people stand together against bullying, they can create real change. |
